These are products that constitute
the highest returns to the group.
They are manufactured either in
the factory for tight quality control
(QC) or at the site - depending
on the requirement - before they
are installed onto the buildings,
be they residential, retail, commercial,
hotels or industrial. Enormous amount
of work on engineering, procurement,
management and installation is needed
to ensure that such products adequately
meet the project specifications
and completion date, particularly
when the specifications are stringent
and of the international standards
like those in the Kuala Lumpur International
Airport (KLIA), Sepang and multi-media
complexes in Cyberjaya.
These products are already well
established and represent substitution
materials to conventional materials
like timber and steel because of
their versatility, lightweight,
durability and recycle-ability.
Therefore it is unlikely to see
any substitution to them selves
in the near future.

Metal
Roofing & Fascia Cladding |
|
| |
This domain includes trading as well as
the supply and installation of metal roofing
sheets to mostly commercial and industrial
buildings. Though less technical than the
domain of aluminium and glazing works, engineering
principles such as good joints, over-lapping,
under-layment and thermal insulation are
needed and it is only through vast experience
that a good roof and a good fascia cladding
free from leakage and heat can be attained.
The company is enjoying a good relation
and strong support from manufacturers that
produce established brand names like BHP
Lysaght, Sanko, FIW and Comspan of ALCOM
after having been in the market for well
over 10 years.

PWC
undertook its maiden building construction
project worth RM20 million in the year 2000
and successfully handed it over to the developer
in 2001. The project comprised 600 units
of low cost apartments in Taman Puchong
Permai, Selangor Darul Ehsan. The company
had in 2002 also successfully completed
its 2nd project of 306 units of 12 storey
low cost apartments at Kampung Lindungan,
9th Mile, Old Klang Road, Selangor Darul
Ehsan one month ahead of time. The project
was worth RM 10 million.
Currently, PWC
is undertaking three projects, namely Suncity
Bhd's 44 units of double storey link houses
and 20 units townhouses at Bandar Sunway
worth RM 6 million, PKNS's 13 units of 3
storey shophouses at Kampung Lindungan,
Off Old Klang Road worth RM 4 million and
350 units of 12 storey low cost apartments
at the same location.
Before the year ends, PWC
will start the construction of 4 blocks
of 18 storey medium low cost apartments
comprising 1892 units for Mentari Properties
Sdn Bhd in neigbouring Sunway Mentari Business
Center, Bandar Sunway. The project value
is RM 90 million and shall take 18 months.
The year 2003 and beyond should see an increase
in the group's turnover in this business
domain. This domain poises to become the
group's top contributor in the very near
future.
PWC
has the capability of offering developers
complete package from super structure works
through specialized services such as external
facade, ceiling and partition and roofing
works. As such, developers will not only
enjoy price competitiveness but will face
with less management hassles as they deal
with fewer contractors.
The company is also positioning itself to
undertake projects on the 'build, operate
and transfer (BOT)' basis in the near future.
